Psychedelic Therapy Is No Longer Fringe -
It’s at the Frontier of Mental Health Care

From clinical trials to therapist trainings to media coverage and TED talks, interest in psychedelics is rapidly growing.

It’s now a part of clinical conversations around mental health issues, such as trauma, depression, grief, and addiction.

As research, treatment protocols, and the legal and clinical landscape evolve, staying informed is becoming more important.

Whether or not you plan to practice in this area, understanding it is becoming part of modern therapeutic competence.

Psychedelic Therapy Is Reshaping the therapy Field -
Here’s Why Staying Informed is Essential

  • Clients are bringing questions to therapists about psychedelics, yet few are equipped to help them weigh options, assess readiness, or make safe, informed decisions.
  • More clients are turning to psychedelics outside of therapy, and they’re looking for therapists who can help them process their experience.
  • Without foundational knowledge, it’s easy to unintentionally reinforce stigma, give inaccurate information, or dismiss a client’s experience.
  •  If you are considering providing this work, it’s wise to gain a clear and ethical understanding of the therapeutic models, research, and associated risks before seeking in-depth training.
  • Responsible practice today means staying current, not just for those offering this work, but for any therapist working in a changing mental health landscape.

This was one of the best organized online trainings I’ve ever taken.
It was clear, culturally sensitive, and trauma-informed.

As an EMDR therapist, I was surprised at how much overlap I saw in preparing clients for trauma work. The case examples and step-by-step process helped me see how psychedelic-assisted therapy could benefit clients, especially those struggling with emotional dysregulation.

I also appreciated learning about the clinical research, which shifted my perspective from seeing psychedelics as purely alternative or spiritual to recognizing their evidence-based potential.

Candace’s discussion on humility and cultural awareness made the course both rigorous and inspiring. I’d absolutely recommend it to any therapist who wants to stay informed and prepared for client questions, and I’d gladly take further training with this instructor.

Who Should Take This Course?

  • Therapists curious about the clinical potential of psychedelics and how they are being used to support clients with mental health issues.
  • Practitioners seeking to stay current as clients increasingly raise questions or share experiences related to psychedelics.
  • Clinicians interested in transformative approaches to healing that go beyond conventional therapy.
  • Professionals working in trauma, grief, or palliative care, or addiction who want a research-informed introduction to this emerging field.

What You'LL GAin FROM THE COURSE in 4 Hours

  • Become Informed. Get a clear, grounded understanding of what psychedelic therapy is and the research it is based upon. Know what to say when clients bring psychedelics up.
  • A map of the psychedelic landscape. Learn the differences between types of psychedelics, and how they’re used in both clinical and underground settings.
  • Talking points and language to use. When clients ask about psychedelic therapy, you’ll be able to give an informed and clinically appropriate response.
  • Understand the clinical use cases. Discover when, how, and for whom psychedelic therapy is being used, and safety considerations.
  • The top 5 mental health conditions for which psychedelic therapy is currently being researched and practiced.
  • An overview of legal and regulatory changes in key countries so you know what’s allowed, and what to watch for.
  • A framework for ethical decision-making when clients disclose psychedelic use or ask for guidance.
  • Examples of therapeutic protocols used in psychedelic-assisted sessions, so you can understand what actually happens during treatment.

This was one of the most well-organized
and useful introductory trainings I’ve ever taken.

I loved how this course deepened my understanding of psychedelic-assisted therapy and also encouraged me to re-examine my practice more holistically, considering aspects like race, culture, religion, and spirituality.

Many introductory trainings are vague or too broad, but this one provided clear, practical information that I could apply right away.

I appreciated that Candace presented different models to choose from. The step-by-step guidance on preparation, dosing, and integration provided will be helpful in discussions with clients.

Lastly, the case vignette pushed me to apply what I’d learned in a realistic scenario.

This course gave me both confidence and clarity. I’m excited to bring these insights into my practice and community.

I now feel much more equipped to support clients
in making informed decisions about psychedelic therapy.

I work with colleagues who have psychedelic facilitator training, and as more of my own clients have been asking questions about psychedelics, I wanted to deepen my understanding of this treatment.

I found the course very helpful. I appreciated how it honored the roots of psychedelic work, while also addressing accessibility, risks, and the ethics of care. I also liked Candace’s emphasis on equity, consent, and cultural humility.

The sections on “set and setting” and the importance of intention helped me think more clearly about how to talk with clients about their choices and what they want to get out of their experiences. The course also gave me a framework for balancing my clinical judgment and scope of practice with a harm reduction lens.

For any therapist whose clients are already curious about or experimenting with psychedelics, I’d highly recommend this course. It will help you respond to clients’ questions and concerns with confidence and clarity.

I can now answer clients' questions
about psychedelics with clarity and confidence.

I found this course incredibly valuable.

In the past, I often felt in the dark when clients brought up psychedelic therapy. In just the last 6 months, 5 clients have brought up psychedelics, so this is not a rare occurrence in my practice. Because of this course, I can now respond with accurate information, without feeling unsure or constrained.

I really valued that Candace shared the cultural importance of psychedelics and how these healing practices are deeply rooted in ritual and long-standing traditions.

The psychedelic protocols for preparation, dosing, and aftercare provided a practical framework for discussing every stage of the client’s experience. The section on SSRIs and psychedelics was also an eye-opener. It highlighted risks I hadn’t even considered.

Every therapist will need this knowledge as clients increasingly seek out psychedelic experiences, whether legally or underground. I’m grateful for the opportunity to take part – it was a valuable and empowering course.

It gave me language and grounding so I can talk with clients about what psychedelic treatment is and isn't.

Some of my clients are exploring ketamine treatment, and I wanted to meet them with more knowledge and confidence. This course gave me exactly that.

I found the discussion of cultural considerations and the stigma that still surrounds these treatments very useful. That essential piece often gets left out of clinical discussions.

I like that Candace underscored that psychedelics aren’t for everyone, and I appreciated the clear information on screening and diagnosis.

I’ve found the information to be very useful in the psychoeducation groups I facilitate, where clients are curious about various treatment modalities.

For therapists working with clients who are curious about or already using psychedelics, I’d highly recommend this course. It has made me a more competent and confident clinician.
