Clinton Power
LGBTQIA+ Counselor & Gestalt Therapist

As a mental health professional, it’s your ethical responsibility to provide compassionate, inclusive, and affirming care to all clients

Regardless of your client’s sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression, it’s essential to use affirming and inclusive practices to reduce mental health disparities and discrimination.

To abide by these principles, it’s important to regularly evaluate your practice to assess if you’re providing the highest standard of care to clients who identify as LGBTQIA+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, Asexual, and other identities).

Completing the checklist will help you discover:

  • How welcoming and safe your practice is for LGBTQIA+ clients
  • Blind spots and misconceptions that may inhibit your ability to be effective with LGBTQIA+ clients
  • The essential knowledge required to ensure your practice is LGBTQIA+ client affirming and inclusive.
