Betrayal is not just a relationship Issue - It's also a Trauma Issue

Therapists may mistakenly frame betrayal solely as a breakdown in communication or trust within a relationship. In doing so, they can overlook  its deeper impact on a client’s sense of self and reality.

Betrayal can dysregulate the nervous system, fragment identity, and trigger  symptoms of PTSD. It often shatters core assumptions about safety, love, and  identity—leaving clients feeling disoriented, ashamed, and uncertain about  what, or whom, to believe, including themselves.

Without fully understanding the profound effects of betrayal—not only on  the relationship but on each individual—therapists risk doing a disservice to  their clients. They may also find themselves confused about why progress in therapy is not working, especially for the betrayed partner.

Here’s what you’ll  learn in this free training:

  • Gain insight into how betrayal can destabilize identity, prompting obsessive thoughts, self-doubt, and deep relational distress.
  • Learn how betrayal can destabilize identity, prompting obsessive thoughts, self-doubt, and deep relational distress.
  • An understanding of how the well-known PACT model of therapy can work with complex relational dynamics more confidently and compassionately.
